International Women's Day Breakfast & Panel

  • St Brigid's Hall Coogee, NSW, 2034 Australia (map)

To celebrate International Women’s Day, The Women’s Well will host a breakfast and panel featuring inspiring trailblazing local women across four generations who have overcome adversity and life challenges.

Panelists include:

Louisa Hope — Founder, Louisa Hope Fund for Nurses
A survivor of the 2014 Sydney siege, Louisa established the Louisa Hope Fund for Nurses to express her gratitude for the care she received during her three‑month hospital stay. The fund supports nursing excellence through grants for equipment, training, and research.

Aunty Lola — Aboriginal Health Worker
Raised as one of ten children in an Aboriginal Welfare Board House and later a single mother of three, Aunty Lola has built a life of resilience and service. She now supports hundreds of families in La Perouse as an Aboriginal Health Worker in Child and Family Health within the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

Milli Weaver — Founder, Australian Endometriosis Foundation
Diagnosed with endometriosis at 19 after years of unmanaged symptoms, Milli has shown remarkable determination through fertility preservation, clinical trials, and multiple procedures. She transformed her lived experience into advocacy by founding Endo Articles, now the Australian Endometriosis Foundation, to improve the journey for others affected by the condition.

Simone Able — Human Rights Lawyer and Head of Legal, ECAJ
Simone is a human rights lawyer and activist whose career has focused on defending individuals facing extreme human rights abuses. She has served as CEO of the Capital Punishment Justice Project and worked with Reprieve UK and other international organisations. Her advocacy centres on legal defence in capital punishment cases, challenging abusive state practices, and strengthening global human rights protections.
